What will be the advantages that will result from the process that you are undertaking?
Dr Piermarini: As immediate benefit, upon completion of this process we will be able to offer machines with longer warranty times to our clients; this is an important results also in terms of maintenance. In addition, this will be an excellent display window for the expansion of our markets, because sterilization is becoming very important in other areas, such as medical, podiatry, aesthetic … For example, in the United States this is now a high demand method and it is expected to become a normative requirement. Taking into account Mocom’s strong orientation towards exports (only 20% of production is for the domestic market) this is a very important opportunity for us.
What benefits can have a company that decides to undertake reliability’s implementation processes?
Dr Mazzoni: Take the example of Mocom … The company aims to extend the warranty time of its sterilizers for its customers; this claim cannot be seen only in commercial terms, but must be supported by an economic balance, which provides a recovery of arising costs, for example, from the avoided guaranteed intervention. These are hidden costs, sometimes relevant, that many companies consider a necessary evil, even if it is not true! This approach shows the implementation of the project that, at this point, turns into a real business growth operation both in terms of culture and openness of mind as well as economic benefits arising from an avoided intervantion.
You define PTM as a company that has made an art of scientific methods…
Dr Mazzoni: PTM’s expertise has grown over the years. We provide a service that is methodological, customized in time for the pharma product but that is also multisectoral as the need for excellence and quality improvement of product and process requirements are absolutely transversal. Through a series of “project in the box” we can create the necessary “homemade” solutions to meet the needs of our customers and partners in various segments of the market … As a partnership is much more profitable than a one-off contract that does not involve a true sharing of values. The latter is an element that leads to the growth of both subjects.
